A Winter's tale

Winter has finally arrived with some snow on my home town of Oldham's high ground. A scene towards 'Austerlands' from Waterhead, where frost snow and mist start to blend together as one. A mighty cold morning, but as always with these, rewarding if one can only pluck up the courage to go out and capture it.
Perfect on full screen.

The fifth and last waterfall on this great walk. Again, in reality not a single fall but a series of them.
The Snow Falls on the River Doe are the second real falls to be found on the downward (return) leg of this splendid walk just after the impressive Baxenghyll Gorge (yet to come on here). These falls are often said to be the prettiest falls on this route as the water often looks like white snow locked in the river. The adjacent photo is taken from just a few more metres further down the river.
As usual, enjoy full size.

Just a hundred metres further down from the main snow falls (See next photo) . Here it joined by yet more water from another small falling stream. The river Doe from here on will now take a more sedate route after just a mile or so of smaller tumbles.
Enjoy full screen.
