Greetings from Silverdale

A week’s break in north Lancashire allows me to visit some places that we have not been to for some years now. This is the seaside area known as Silverdale and one might imagine how that name was derived. We have just finished our picnic here and are looking down Morcambe Bay over the treacherous Walton Sands which houses the Kent Channel. The tall buildings in the distance is the Heysham Nuclear Power station.
Our path continues between the narrow walled path on the left into the headland trees and beyond.
Enjoy full screen and have a good week.

These residential back-gardens are locked in by fences, a little like our lives by this C19 virus. On a brighter note, we see here a favourite reflection subject along this stretch of the ‘Peak Forest Canal’ in Greater Manchester.
HFF, enjoy the weekend.

My local park certainly comes into its own each Autumn. - Only yesterday, after posting one of last years Autumn shots did I think that I was not going to be as lucky this year, and look what happens.
Enjoy large.
Townley Hall, Burnley

Townley Hall, once the seat of the Townley family, was built around 1100. They once owned extensive property in Lancashire and Yorkshire and can trace their ancestry back to the Norman times. Sitting in a 440 acre (180 hectares) park that is now owned by the Burnley Borough Council, it is open to all. We took a guided tour of the house (for a small fee) but its gardens and grounds are also a pleasure to stroll through, all for free. Enjoy this Autumn look and internal views via the PiPs.

There are fences everywhere in Britain. Here we see a lone fence on a big beach at Formby Point near Southport.
HFF to all, and enjoy your weekend, Herb
See Pip for my other Dune fence.

This was just the beginning of our recent snow storm. This chap had an important mission. Click on the PiP's to see what that was.
