A scene here more readily associated with Christmas perhaps. Taken just days ago after a quick overnight snowfall.

Springtime in Oldham

A view of Hartshead Pike, a local landmark, taken just a couple of hundred meters from my home. We used to see this quite, just the same, from one of our windows but now high trees in the neighbours garden has ended all that. (We now have twittering birds instead –that is some compensation, I must admit.) Its mid April and well into Spring –you can tell by the amount of snow we have on this day. Best full screen

A Primula in Winter

12 Apr 2021 24 19 223
As late Spring snows covers part of our garden, the early flowers take a cold battering. As it happened, our primula was no worse off in spite of the cold snap that remains even today (a week later.) Have a great safe week.

Taken from Birchen Edge, Derbyshire, a reminder after a long Winter that Spring has arrived.

Filey Town at Easter

A long view into this Yorkshire holiday resort. Demonstrating that a day at the seaside is always worth a paddle even in such cool dull weather.

In this European Tree of the Year 2020 we can enjoy another look at this fine Silver Birch here in Chew Valley, Saddleworth. A splendid tree in all seasons but with this almost surreal natural cloud background it is something else. This years results of our best trees. : www.treeoftheyear.org/results Enjoy full screen

A touch of Spring

At the corner of our little road this morning. Notice the falling petal!

Tulips of Spring

Not one for taking or publishing many flower picture, I just had to snap these as they seem quite unusual from our normal yellow and red varieties. My wife said they were 'doubles' whatever that means! Hope you like the greeting-card type framing here. Again, essential full screen on black.
