House ends

A capture taken in New Quay, Wales. Taken whilst doing a Welsh coast tour of three weeks some years back now. I liked the colour harmony and diagonal angles here. New Quay is a seaside town in Ceredigion. Located 19 miles south-west of Aberystwyth, on Cardigan Bay with a harbour and large sandy beaches, the town lies on the Ceredigion Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path. HWW, enjoy the day

Red for Autumn

Ah yes, it might be red now but this bush is a purplish-pink colour in spring. I think it is a single twig of a Cotinus bush but I am no expert. In any case I thought it looked quite nice framed by this dark green fence and I do like the reddish reflections. I hope you do too. HFF. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Still Life: Life in a shell

20 May 2020 20 21 245
My tenth and last still life here today, displaying a photo with some of the same ingredients as in my SPC competition entries that started all this. No surprise really as this was done on the same shoot. I have tried to harmonies the colours and shades somewhat as well as having harmonies in shape and form. The woven basketwork base tries to imitate the lines in the shell too. Another end result that may have looked good on a restaurant place mat perhaps. I hope you have enjoyed this series from me as much as I enjoyed producing it, and that it demonstrated perhaps some different ideas from me other than my usual landscapes and holiday selections. Nice full screen.

Red in blue.

Our robin takes notice before he drinks.

Another shot in our garden to the bird bath within our dry-fountain. In practice, we have two robins here in the garden and I believe this one has a nest within the ivy, honysuckle and clematis trellis, shared with a blackbirds nest too. Technically this is a 'European Robin' with the scientific name: Erithacus rubecula Nice full screen
