A look at the quite fishing harbour here. A few fishing boats are moored alongside the quay to my left side but we have mostly small pleasure boats here. The modern street dwellings with the tower reflects some of the Tuscany building traditions of places like Volterra and San Gimignano, not too far away from Piombino. HWW. Enjoy the day.

Walking along the South banks of this fine Lake District Mere we stumble into a small outside cafe that includes a hire boat service if required. For me the photo location takes some beating and the coffee and cakes aren't bad either.

Bingen on the great River Rhein is a colourful place with wonderful views all around. Castles abound too but here we have some flavour of the heart of the place. With these vineyards and the river as a background this simple plant pot and flowers makes up truly welcome.

As we walk past fields of glorious yellow, we see and feel the beauty of our world again. Even the damp fence post seem to reflect the yellows too, but in actual fact, on closer inspection one can see it is in fact yet more of the yellow heads dancing around in the foreground breeze. Now let our eyes and mind meander along to the gate on the right and simply Enjoy! The yellow flowers are 'Ragwort' (senecio jacobaea), a semi- poisonous nuisance weed –that is very bad for livestock, although it tastes so bad that animals are repelled by it. It thrives with other insects though, so good for nature in general. HFF. Let’s have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
