The picture gives some idea as to what the castle looks like. The castle is In private hands and so no close visits for us here, even for a quick photo. The castle itself was constructed c1585 and is now owned by the Readman family. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meggernie_Castle

We see here a view up the glen showing the river Lyon and our road back to Killin winding up through the valley opposite. Up to this point our way was thickly wooded but now it thins out as we make our way down to the river below. See PiP Best full screen Enjoy the day.

A traverse along Glen Lyon has many rewards. Here I am looking back along the way we have come whilst my better half takes a hard-earned rest. Our way is all down-hill from here on as we return on this six mile circular walk along the valley bottom accompanied by the River Lyon. See PiP for opposite view. HBM, enjoy the week.
