Our last full day at Killin before heading north takes us past this famous viaduct in Glen Ogle. Time for another attempted photo in the drier weather but from this lower viewpoint on the A85. See PiP, last photo for more details of the viaduct itself.

Glen Ogle Viaduct

Our second full day here and the weather is very wet and overcast. We decide to take a walk that we have done years before along the old Glenogle railway track, now a liner walking and cycle path. After a few miles from our start at Lochearnhead we reach the viaduct and our turnaround point. The PiP (adjacent photo) shows the same viaduct and indeed the more popular view from the main road that we passed again a few days later in slightly better weather. The viaduct was part of the Callander and Oban Railway and was in service from 1870 to 1965. It has 12 arches and is 129ft long . The highest single arch is 44ft. A wet day does not deter us from a walk along this famous old disused railway line. We are heading towards the viaduct, a well-known photo attraction from our parking spot at Lochearnhead. Follow Pip for more info. Have a good weekend.
