The Statue Of Liberty In Narrow band. This was a 90 degree rotation to the shot of the Christmas tree Nebula so the "lady" stands up straight and is not on an angle. The detail of the "dress" shows up a lot more in narrow band that it ever did with a one shot camera. The shot is well worth a look large. This is the longest focal length that I can get from the 8" Newtonian and the 1" sensor of the QHY183M, this is almost same view that a 10" and ASP-C camera will get. This Is a Narrow band shot of Thors helmet using two filter's Ha Red colour and O3 Blue colour to get the colour photo with the B/W camera. A lot of detail has come out of using the filters as well. Slowly coming to terms with the world of filters one of the drawbacks I am not able to rotate the filter wheel without upsetting the balance of the mount. the shot needed to be rotated a few degrees to the right to square up the wings on the helmet. This may look like one shot but in fact is 4 shot panorama of the area. The main reason for the shot was to see the big star middle top and its difraction spikes from the new solid spider. I had to retake flats as the first stack when I looked at the shot looked like Checkerboard. Flats are uses to remove lens faults and dust. if you look at the pip you can see just what I mean. Carlos only use the two eyes to adjust the Secondary mirror not looking at the main mirror , then puts the single eye in the you see just how you adjust to the the main mirror correct. It adjust one do the other then back and forwards till all are correct between the Secondary mirror and the main mirror. not at all how I was told or shown. This was to be my last colour photo . I framed in Nina in the afternoon then went out for a meal and left Nina to the Job. I framed two shot pano on the long side BUT I get a perfect 2 shot pano on the short side. The left side was the first and during editing I was struck by the Face that stares out at you ( the red Dot left side) once see you cant unsee the face PIP . With a lot of technical looking into the image header and finding out the RA and DEC values we were able to find out the head is GUM 85. we had to put those values in a search engine for space. This is night two (and that's it for well over a week) this came about by recollimating the mirrors on the mount. In short you have to line up the mirrors by following steps and "eyes" to see just where things are each adjustment is not on one screw but three bottom or main mirror and the secondary or top mirror. It better than the first shot but still could be better. I have to remove the clips that hold the mirror and put silicone under the mirror to hold it in place gives cleaner stars. This also was stacked with the right flats the first had none. That was a nightmare in itself I got up early to get this done every time I turned around power points all lost power. after the 4 th time and a lot of head scratching I remove everything on power points in the house and built it back. This is a bit of an odd ball as it does not follow anthing like I have done before. I found this Dark looking structure on Stellarium but it was not named so could not select it by writing the name. I was able to use the cool feature in Nina Select it in Stellarium and it brings it into Nina as a target. The star is HIP 54413 at least I knew that part from Stellarium This is two nights worth of shots and about 5 goes at trying to edit this which is so different to how I have done all the others. The first real result in Nina. the only snag I have hit and cant figure out why the mount is not flipping over to the other side at meridian. The two night that this ran I had to stop and restart after the time 12:15 am had passed so it set up correctly as the auto flip did not work. We think one of two things the set limits for the flip to happen where not being picked up, so I have redone them manually the setting of the limits. I had cleaned and reground the grooves out of the Focus tube this was just a very fast trial to see if it helped. what helped the most was de grease the track before I started shooting tonight a very low HFR and the image is clear and sharp on the Running chicken.
