The night after i arrived in NZ it was a clear night ( nothing but heavy cloud since i was lucky) so i went out to Whatapu head on the west coast looking Due west . the very last of the milky way for this season is sitting just above the horizon. Nine Pin ( Light house)and Moon are the light sources for this shot. My lap top dies third day got it fixed only to have it fail again. so a new one coming this is stitched cropped but not edited. shot low tide with the tide rising. first shot of the night. Birds a baptism of fire in the dark in the bush in the wilds there is no second chance or set up. any one who shoots birds will tell you small birds never sit still long enough. enjoy my first under real pressure.

This is a shot for those who wish to learn My first even night panorama 3 horizontals, Moon in the middle of frame lens flare and lens vignetting , The 500 rule is not quite correct shots at 34 seconds each but i am at 20 sec these days. I have never thought to go back and look at this set of shot PTGui handled it perfectly nothing else could. milky way is in shot 1 , Magellanic Cloud to the very right of shot Bright source at the right end is Tauranga. Enjoy a place i will never get back to Beach house is sold.
