Occasionally, Garip will find a box turtle and bring it to me. I will thank him, make sure the turtle is right-side-up, and Garip & I will go somewhere else. The turtle walks away.

I found this turtle upside-down in front of the house. I turned it over. After it stuck its head out, I took this photo through the window. The turtle was keeping watch on the door.

I'm getting tired of this turtle series, and I think this turtle is, too. Garip has caught it several times, and several years ago he chewed on the turtle's shell. The scars are visible. Yesterday, Garip found four turtles. I think it is box turtle mating season.

There is a joke here that if you see a turtle on top of a post, you can be sure it didn't get there by itself. I assure you this turtle got on top of this stump without any help. ;-)
