3 Stages of a Hippeastrum flower.

24 Feb 2018 43 38 775
This week's Saturday Self Challenge, SSC: Create your own triptych using the subject and processing of your choice. After spending some considerable time yesterday looking at videos of how to create a triptych using Photoshop, and this morning taking 3 quick photos of 3 stages of a Hippeastrum flower, it took almost 2 hours to follow all the instructions from videos. I was so nearly giving up, but ...... here is the result. I had another try with flowers in the garden. It was much easier to do second time around. The 3 garden flower photos are Narcissus obvallaris (the Tenby daffodil), Crocus tommasinianus which profusely seeds around the garden and Helleborus x hybridus (the Lenten rose).

Little red mannequin or maybe a chess piece?

The cause for the upload problems has now been found. Only one of the two parallel upload servers at the Amazon web service reacted to user requests. This error is now fixed. (Why this happened is still unclear. Since mid-April (integration of the new frontpage and the new "thank you!") the ipernity code had not been touched. Christophe is going to ask the former programmers about it However, the fact that both servers now accept uploads again revealed another bug: Apparently the automatic background synchronization of the two servers does not work completely either. Although no data is lost, it is not always displayed in full when retrieved. Tomorrow morning, Qwellcode will try to fix this as well. Then the ipernity software should be reinitialized at AWS to set a new recovery point. Best regards Bernhard

The Saturday Self challenge today is: Anything related to Christmas. Since it is also the Winter Solstice, if you don't celebrate Christmas, you may choose any topic relating to winter. This photo is taken through a clear red glass bauble on our tree. It was a grey morning. We look out to this oak tree, our front garden and a few houses from the living room.
