Once upon a time

Saturday Self Challenge: Invent a fairy tale and illustrate it. Once upon a time a good fairy came to Hamburg from the south of Germany. She looked at the industry and all the graffiti, and thought to herself, “Hamburg needs to be green again. I will create a magic potion which will make the air fresh and pure. People who take a sip of this special and magical drink will be happy and always healthy. Trees and green spaces will flourish throughout the city, and all will be perfect.” But there was one mistake in her spell, a serious flaw, which she hadn’t accounted for. The blue sky in Hamburg had touched part of the potion and rendered it turquoise. Moral: There’s many a slip twixt cup and lip. ;-) Moral: Es gibt viele Fehler zwischen Becher und Lippe.

The church balconies are curved and seem to give a sense of movement to the inside of St Michaelis.

Little red mannequin or maybe a chess piece?

The cause for the upload problems has now been found. Only one of the two parallel upload servers at the Amazon web service reacted to user requests. This error is now fixed. (Why this happened is still unclear. Since mid-April (integration of the new frontpage and the new "thank you!") the ipernity code had not been touched. Christophe is going to ask the former programmers about it However, the fact that both servers now accept uploads again revealed another bug: Apparently the automatic background synchronization of the two servers does not work completely either. Although no data is lost, it is not always displayed in full when retrieved. Tomorrow morning, Qwellcode will try to fix this as well. Then the ipernity software should be reinitialized at AWS to set a new recovery point. Best regards Bernhard

Elbe tunnel

In 1911, the old Elbe tunnel was built to provide a new direct route for dock workers from the St. Pauli Piers or 'Landungsbrücken' over to the Southern banks of the Elbe river. Initially a technical innovation, the tunnel became a tourist attraction when the 'new' Elbtunnel and several bridges were built in the 1970s. Now, elevators carry pedestrians and bicyclists into the deep tunnel. Message from IMA: The cause for the upload problems has now been found. Only one of the two parallel upload servers at the Amazon web service reacted to user requests. This error is now fixed. (Why this happened is still unclear. I think that everyone who visits Hamburg takes a photo similar to this.
