Fine tree

Such beautiful looking young trees, which will be around for many years yet with a bit of luck.

Viewing large, it seems to me that these might have been, at one time, just one tree, which has split down the middle and continued growing as two trees (or maybe I'm just seeing things)!

Could be but in this case the split point may be in the soil. Next time I pass by (next week) I will have a closer look.

Had a closer look. Seems to me the same tree splitted in two main branches. Impossible to dig further with what I had on hand, but also usually if there are two trees together one takes over, there is a "fight" for water there. But two options are possible...

Having seen the new photos, I'm inclined to agree with you.........but Amelia disagrees and she generally seems to know about trees and plants.

At the end of the day it's doesn't matter as long as the tree (or trees) are healthy and live a long life :-)

Nice examples of evergreen oaks. I think they are, and always have been, separate trees.

Went to have a closer look and hard to tell, but look at photos I added on PIPs. Here when two trees are too close one takes advantage and the other usually does not make it, our climate is very dry and one tree needs a lot os space to thrive. If they grew close to a water line I could agree, but on top of a hill I don't think they can be two.
