Clonopsis gallica, Daucus carota, Penedos

THESE INSECTS HAVE ALWAYS FASCINATED ME. UNTIL A FEW YEARS AGO THERE WERE MANY IN OUR AREA. UNFORTUNATELY THEY HAVE DISAPPEARED, LIKE MANY OTHERS. THIS WAS THE LAST ONE I SAW.
HOWEVER, OUR MOUNTAINS ARE ONE OF THE FEW ECOSYSTEMS THAT HAS NOT BEEN DESTROYED BY AGRICULTURE, ONLY THE ELDERLY CULTIVATE SOME MODEST GARDENS TO FEED THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO OTHER MEANS OF SUBSISTENCE WITH PENSIONS OFTEN NOT EXCEEDING 300€.
NOBODY UNDERSTANDS WHAT IS GOING ON, WINTER AND SPRING CONTINUE TO OFFER HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT FLOWERS, BUT WITH THE UNEXPLAINED DECREASE IN INSECTS I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE WILL BE...

And I was wondering...who on earth would carry stick instects around to set them free in a botanical garden?? Perhaps that's what happened though...people collect them and try to keep them in their gardens or at home as pets!!
