Thank you for sharing this wonderful self portrait, Isabel. Estrelinha looks perfectly comfortable in her conveyance (good thing she's a small dog! and not too heavy!) It is hard when our animal companions get old, but you have clearly found a means of accommodating her frailties so you can still enjoy each other company on your wanderings.

I always say I am her shadow. Being with her has always been a great pleasure and now that she is old I owe her the utmost respect and tender loving care. Obrigada Annalia

After a while she becomes a little heavy for my old back, then I find a place for both of us to rest in the shadow, drink (water for her)...

Not in the Sahara but here! Alentejo and Algarvian serras have very high temperatures, over 40ºC part of the year, we are used too.
I have that kind of cover you mean, with flaps for ears and neck, but that is only when it is really unbearable.
