I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS SONG CAME TO MY MIND WHEN I SAW THIS DOVE ON TOP OF A DEAD GREEN OAK TREE (QUERCUS ILEX). THIS TREE WAS VERY OLD, I HAVE KNOWN IT SINCE ALMOST 60 YEARS AND IT SEEMED TO ME SHE WAS ALREADY AS BIG. SHE DIED LAST YEAR, MAYBE TOO OLD TO COPE WITH THE SEVERE DRAUGHT WE ARE EXPERIENCING THESE LAST YEARS.
I SAW THE DOVE AS A SYMBOL OF LIFE AFTER ALL THOSE DARK DAYS AND ALSO AS A TRIBUTE TO INDIRECT COVID-19 VICTIMS AND VICTIMS OF ALL INJUSTICES AROUND THE WORLD...

A shame about the tree. But a lovely tribute - thank you.

The shape of the tree reminds me of one that I was able to see across some empty lots at the end of out street. I found its shape to be beautiful, and managed to get one good picture of it, though I had to edit out a set of power lines that ran through its branches. I don't know what kind it was, but it was weak-wooded enough that some of the major branches snapped off in windstorms, so it no longer has its pleasing shape, and I can't see it from our street anyway, as several houses have been built on the lots

A beautiful and powerful b/w series, Isabel. It's very likely that the drought killed the tree, on our former rural property the drought killed a marvellous tree probably 300 years old. Stay safe in these crazy times.
