The Peninsula is dry...except in the Northern part, Galicia etc... even though they had less rain than their usual.

Yes, same here, last year we didn't get rain until mid-November, one week after the horrible fire that destroyed the town of Paradise.

We heard that here, well, in CNN...
We also have terrible fires and a lot of destruction over the past years.
