L’église Notre-Dame de Dijon, considérée comme un chef-d'œuvre d'architecture gothique du xIIIe siècle, est située au cœur des 97 hectares du secteur sauvegardé de Dijon, inscrit depuis le 4 juillet 2015 au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO1. Elle s'élève place Notre-Dame, à proximité du Palais des ducs et des États de Bourgogne et en face de la rue Musette. On estime que l'édifice actuel a été construit des années 1229 aux années 1250 environ. Cette église abrite la statue de Notre-Dame de Bon-Espoir, auparavant appelée Vierge noire. Elle s'orne aussi de deux symboles de la ville de Dijon : le Jacquemart et la chouette. L'église a été classée au titre des monuments historiques par la liste de 1840. La chapelle de l'Assomption, la sacristie et la galerie les reliant à l'église sont inscrits au titre des monuments historiques depuis le 5 juillet 20022.

The Church of Notre-Dame of Dijon is a Roman Catholic church in Dijon. Considered a masterpiece of 13th-century Gothic architecture, it is situated at the heart of the preserved old centre of the city. It is in Place Notre-Dame, near the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy and opposite the rue Musette.
Work on the church began around 1230.[1] The church contains the statue of Notre-Dame de Bon-Espoir, formerly called the Black Madonna. The church's decorations also include two symbols of Dijon: the jacquemart (bell-striking automaton) and the owl. The church was classified as a Monument Historique in the List of historic monuments of 1840. The chapel of the Assumption, the sacristy, and the gallery that links them have been listed as Monuments Historiques since 5 July 2002.
