Hanuman sculpture and peacock windows in Patan

The beautiful peacock window carving is typical Newa art. Some windows 200 years and older.
Hanuman is a Hindu deity, who is an ardent devotee of Rama, a central character in the Indian epic Ramayana. A general among the vanaras, an ape-like race of forest-dwellers, Hanuman is an incarnation of the divine, whose fate it is to aid the hero Rama in the struggle against the demon king Ravana.
The Newa people leaving in Patan practice both religions Hinduism and Buddhism. No many people know of Buddhist Newa people and answer that I'm wrong.
According to the 2001 Nepal Census, 84.13% of Newars were Hindu and 15.31% were Buddhist.
