Where the miners were entombed, Frank, Alta.
Warwick Bros. & Rutter card 3102 -- a slightly different design than the other three Frank slide cards. This one shows where the miners were entombed. It is on the fancy Warwick divided back (the others have the boxy "Canadian Souvenir Post Card" back, undivided in one case and divided in the other two).

Big rock from the Slide, Frank, Alta.
This is also addressed to Mr. Cobley and was sent the same day. What is quite interesting is the message: "Dear Cousin, Where you see X is myself and Wife. George." It is extremely unusual to see someone identify himself on a lithographed card, which could not be published for a considerable time after the photo was taken.

Entrance of Coal Mine, Frank, Alta.
The fourth of the Frank cards. This one has an exceptionally long letter written in tiny though legible writing. There is no addressee as the letter takes up the entire back of the card plus some of the front. I will transcribe it at another time.

Immense Rock on Slide, Frank, Alta.
Like the other other cards (excepting possibly the "Entrance to Coal Mine" card), this one is addressed to W. H. Cobley, Esq., 33 Stimpson Ave., Northampton, England. The back is undivided -- unlike the other three cards -- and it was posted at Frank on July 15, 1907. The Frank Slide occurred on April 29, 1903. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Slide
