Woodshop
Saturday is my woodshop day - good friends, a full coffee pot, jokes and relaxation. I make lots of sawdust and get a wonderful mental health break in my week.
birdhouses
Did a run of replacement birds houses... that one one the left has seen better days... but was made with the help of my 4 yr old - 23 years ago!
coffee filler - crazy glue
thin CA adhesive runs like water... and wicks the grounds down into the depths of the cracks.
coffee filler - start with mortar and pestle
dried coffee grounds are an excellent wood filler... they sand, glue, router, turn and finish just wood, as they are also plant fibre.
First step is to pulverize them very fine so they penetrate all the cracks.

curly maple pen
Curly maple... *really* curly maple... and knurled antique brass. This week's Saturday wood shop creation
gift of wood
I love getting unusual packages - nice people send me wood. Yup - logs in the mail ;-)
Juniper turning-#1 stopper
These wine stoppers are show stoppers - the purple of the juniper is lovely.
Juniper turning-#2 mess
by 9 AM I'd already made quite the mess in the woodshop. Sawdust is my mental health release...
Juniper turning-#3 done
out of mighty branches good things get created...
okay - so that branch isn't all that big... trust me, it took the slow-growing juniper shrub MANY years to get to that diameter.
juniper#1-logs
these are REALLY old juniper stalks - downed by a winter ice storm.
