Wheatley Harbour and Provincial Park

I love catching these quirky signs...

Not about to add these into the stir fry tonight.... ;-)

The boardwalk over the park marsh is a great spot to listen to the boom of the bull frogs and watch the dance of the dragonflies.

the breakwall off the end of the long pier at Wheatley... the kids swim out to it from the beach...

I collect these survey markers when I come across them.. this one is at the end of the pier in Wheatley Harbour.

Bollards of this size tell a story of bigger boats and fast hooking in rough waters... a solid sense of permanence.

The modern lights need little service, but lack the romance of the big old stone lighthouses that used to dot these lakes. The puddle made for a fun reflection and spoke of the storm the day before.

always interesting to see what you can find on the beach, the day after a storm... Though in this case, I suspect the boy was a more recent arrival ;-)

an old barn on the approach the Wheatley Provincial Park - I have always loved old barns... but this one held a special bit of detail.... The next image shows it in actual colour, but I think I like this sepia tone better.
