This was an inspired choice of subject, but as is often the case I fear the lack of height has produced a lovely photo with a short DOF as opposed to an effective tilt-shift image. For me the subjects are just too real ... sorry!

what a lovely beach, I could visit there, but I may never go home. Your people don't quite look small enough.

This is the question I have with this technique, is it just a fake depth of field or something else. This lovely photo looks as though you used effective depth of field. That effect is betrayed by your actual DOF at 9.0. I don't know if it was the effect that we were expecting in this challenge but regardless I love it. It looks better than the miniature effects we were going for in the first place.
