Das Marmorpalais in Potsdam war das Sommerschloss von König Friedrich Wilhelm II. Das Gebäude wurde im frühklassizistischen Stil um 1790 erbaut. Es ist umgeben von einem englischen Garten und liegt am Ufer des Heiligen Sees. Im Vergleich zu anderen Fürstenresidenzen in Potsdam ist dieses Schloss recht bescheiden ausgefallen. Es war dem Privatleben des Königs vorbehalten. Trotzdem wirkt das Gebäude sehr harmonisch und beeindruckend.

Trotzdem oder gerade deswegen ? Vielleicht will auch so ein armer König in seinen privaten Stunden (sozusagen nach Feierabend) was Angenehmes sehen, und nicht immerzu den Prunk.
Mein persönlicher Favoritenplatz wäre ja das Türmchen ganz oben mit Rundumsicht.
