Die Ruine ist eine alte Einsiedelei. Hinter dem Gebäude befindet sich der Eingang zur Arkoudospilio-Höhle (Bärenhöhle). Diese Höhle diente schon in neolithischer und minoischer Zeit kultischen Zwecken. In der Antike wurde hier die Göttin Artemis verehrt, der der Bär heilig war. Im Innern der Höhle gibt es einen Felsen, den man mit reichlich Phantasie für eine Bärenskulptur halten könnte.

Im Vordergrund wächst die Weiße Meerzwiebel (Drimia maritima), siehe 2 PiPs.
