A Fence for Friday

Ob dieser Zaun wirklich Schutz vor einem Sturz in einen tiefen Abgrund bietet, sei mal dahingestellt. Ich halte ihn allenfalls für ein Symbol und eine Erinnerung daran, die Augen offenzuhalten und ein bißchen vorsichtig zu sein. Vielleicht war er auch an anderer Stelle übrig und mußte irgendwie und irgendwo verbaut werden. Egal !
Euch allen wünsch ein schönes Wochenende, freut euch an dem hellen Sonnenlicht und dem Blau des Himmels auf diesem Foto ! Irgendwann kann man sowas auch wieder live erleben ! HFF und Good Vibes aus der grauen Wetterau !

Du sagst es, mehr ein symbolischer zaun, aber das ist wahrscheinlich besser als nichts. Und fotogen ist er auch, in kombination mit dieser mauer (oder gebäudeüberresten).

Also ich freue mich am grauen novemberhimmel, denn hier ist der himmel oft im hochsommer wochenlang so blau...bei 40 °C (und letzteres ist nix für mich) ;-)) Blauer himmel im frühling ist ok :-))

Ich neige ja eher zur herbst- und winterlichen Depression; das Grau macht mich ziemlich fertig. Nun ja; auch das geht vorbei und im Februar geht’s auf die Kanaren. Da freu ich mich schon sehr drauf. Auch dir ein schönes Wochenende und liebe Grüße, Edna !

Ja, so ist jeder mensch anders. Und bis februar ist es ja nicht mehr sooo lange, da könnt ihr euch schon mal auf die Kanaren freuen. Dort war ich leider noch nie, geplant war es zu meinem 40. geburtstag (schon einige jahre her) im februar, aber leider hatte uns dann rechtzeitig die grippe niedergestreckt und wir mussten stornieren. Tja, irgendwann wird's auch mit den Kanaren nochmal klappen... :-))

Guten Morgen Ulrich,
nach deiner Beschreibung kann ich den Abgrund erahnen. Besser wäre es, der hässliche Bauzaun wäre nicht da aufgestellt worden. In den Bergen muss man halt aufpassen. Allenfalls an exponierter Stelle wäre ein Warnschild sinnvoll.. – War das mal eine Burg?

Die Ruine gehört zu den Resten einer mittelalterlichen Festung auf der Insel Astypalaia; ein Überbleibsel aus der venezianischen Zeit. Früher diente sie zum Schutz gegen Seeräuber; heute sind die Ruinen eine Touristenattraktion. Endgültig zerstört wurde die Burg erst in den 50er Jahren durch ein Erdbeben. Am Wiederaufbau wird zwar gearbeitet, aber das geht eher langsam voran.

Don't lean on the fence then?!!! In truth you would not get me anywhere close to the edge, or the fence - I am terrified of heights! There are always some willing to take risks though so I guess the fence is a good idea, even if it isn't really fit for purpose!

The picture itself is beautiful Ulrich. I love the mellow colours and textures of the stonework and the lovely blue sky above. It is very pleasing to the eye.

I have to apply a factor 50 sunscreen before I come here, Ulrich. It looks so hot and dry. I think the fence may protect you form a steep drop if the surrounding scenery is anything to go by.
