They are lovely. One rarely sees them. This place is so remote...a magnificent permanent waterhole in the middle of hundreds of square kilometers of dry, hot desert. Thus a thriving bird habitat. These birds are insect eaters and grazers, not water birds.
I agree with you ...clean feet and hands to visit their home! They look so clean and neat! Kiss to you too. Diana
