"Jumpers and Jazz" 2015

Some years ago, the good people of Warwick, inland from Brisbane, realised that their winters were decidedly chilly. With that thought in mind, they were concerned that the local trees had no way to keep warm, so they came to the conclusion that the trees needed jumpers. Finishing touches

My cousin applying the finishing touches to a "tree jumper" created for an annual festival held at Warwick in Queensland, called "Jumpers and Jazz". To explain that, I'm putting together an album with related images (some in notes above and others to come). Taken at dawn, before the streets became crowded.

Commemorating Great Uncle Joe.

Great Uncle Joe was one of the many who did not return in 1918 - but he was 'our' family, so to commemorate him the current generation of womenfolk crocheted this tree jumper. It was awarded a "Highly Commended for excellence in knitting and/or crochet" at the "Jumpers & Jazz" festival. This seems a suitable music link.
