I've just been on the Internet to find out the state of the fires in Australia. Every day there is a new conflagration, and the firefighters are struggling to keep going. I wish you both all the best for 2020, and hope that you get some rain soon, but that doesn't seem likely. Stay safe.

The situation is disturbing and makes almost speechless.
Do politicians still want to risk New Year fireworks in the burning regions?

In here we have news update all the time and it seems to be worse and worse. All we can do is keep catching up, we feel so helpless... and in here we are used to fires too.

Out thoughts are with you George. I do hope that you , your family and community really are safe. I fear not !!!! The news we hear here every day in Britain gets worst from your area of Australia. As Amelia says -troops and long hold-ups on your roads surrounded by fires are scary to say the least. I know you are strong and resilient and I really trust that you can survive all this.

Thank you, everyone. There has been some rain and, while in many areas it has not been enough to extinguish the fires, it has helped to bring them under control I'm glad to say that the risks seem to be off in our area.
