Froghopper (Prosapia bicinctai)

The froghoppers, or the super family Cercopoidea, are a group of Hemipteran insects, in the suborder Auchenorrhyncha. Adults are capable of jumping many times their height and length, giving the group their common name, but they are best known for their plant-sucking nymphs which encase themselves in froth (Known as cukcoo spit) in springtime. Photographed using my Canon EOS 400D and Canon Ultrasonic maco lens EFS 60mm f1:2.8 & Hoya 0UV filter.
