Kabuto Jinja - ShiShi-Mai 80

Photographed 10 11 2009 at the Kabuto Shrine.
This was one of several "Lion Dances" seen during this touring holiday. Here the ShiShi was coaxed up the ladder then down the other side, a chgallenge set by another ShiShi tamer. A ShiShi is the Mythical Lion-dog in Shinto Mythology. The ShiShi is here a skin with a Mask, inside there are two people usually men but I have seen this dance performed by girls.
