this c12 norman doorway on the north west corner of the nave is several decades later than the tower. it is cut into the pre-conquest nave, which still boasts this c10 round window below the c15 clerestory.
larling ivory plaque, norwich museum

saxon panel of c.780 found at larling, south norfolk. it shows the roman myth of romulus and remus suckled by a wolf, a motif used by king aethelberht on his coins. the king was murdered in 794 and became a saint, the church at larling bears his dedication, so this may have come from an allied cult object or book in the church there.
