part of the subsidiary buildings rambling to the south of the main monastic complex, this block seen from the east has a norman vaulted undercroft, with the early c14 new hall over it. the block extending east on the right hand is the treasury or audit chamber of 1344, also on an undercroft. now part of the school, as are many of the other monastic buildings.

crauden built this little jewel box in 1324-5, with a half timbered study to its east that has all but gone . the cathedral west tower shows its late c14 top beyond.
