built by pownall in 1873-4, this r.c.church is about to consider restoration, having been coated in many thick layers of gloss paint in the 50s and 60s. the bones of the building are not bad under all this, with two good reredoses , two c19 fonts, and an altar carved by earp. the glass isn't bad either, though the extreme plaster saints have to be seen to be believed .

the c15 font came from hutton in 1873, the cover is victorian. views of the c13 interior have to be generally made through the somewhat murky windows; I have never yet been able to gain access.
