1843-4 church by william railton, now flats, a fate only marginally preferrable to demolition. why are such changes of use done with so little imagination ? presumably finances are to blame , but every such job I've ever seen has detracted from the original building, not one has added aesthetically in any way or approached the brief with any gusto. missed opportunities every time.
