the model and the life room, tate britain, london


marita ross, known as angel face, an understandably successful early c20 artists' model who is one of those at the centre of a tate britain exhibition about life drawing. the simple sculptural forms of her body inspired many sculptures, and the experience of sitting for many well known artists is expressed in letters and even a poem from the archives.
