C19 warehouses for tea and spices along wapping high street, once noisy dockland, now deathly quiet residential. in 1982 I was part of a live-in installation at the B2 gallery along here, a 5 day party with the neo-naturists including the binnie sisters, marilyn, helen terry from culture club, grayson perry in his twinset and pearls days and assorted trannies and punks, headcases all. half of the cast of the naked macbeth got warned off the foreshore after complaints to the river police, and the fifth day saw a raid on a neigthbouring gallery's opening to liberate wine and black forest gateaux. my memory of those days lacks total clarity but painting tartan on pendant parts for macbeth day sticks in the mind
