montacute house, somerset

in 1786 edward phelips V brought the front of another house to add to montacute's west facade, allowing corridor communication betweeen the two wings. clifton maybank in dorset was built around 1535, and the porch retains the arms of sir john horsey and his wife edith phelips. The windows were either moved from the covered up montacute facade of the 1590s, or take their style.
