the saxon chancel arch retains its capitals, though a c15 arch now cuts the saxon string above. this once supported the rood, and slight remains of the figure of mary can be seen to the left. the two openings above may also be saxon despite the c15 tracery. the north arcade is late c12, with chunks of wall where saxon porticus stood; the south arcade is c13. clerestory and roof are c15.
