open on saturdays, I was lucky to find the warden of the works in the church during the week; many thanks for the access, and nice to find someone knowledgeable in charge of the building. the tower dates from the c13, with lancets of that date. it later gained height and buttresses in the c15 , a west window in the early c16 and its hertfordshire spike soon after. at the west end of the mid c14 south aisle is a restored c12 window, with the upper quatrefoil of the c14 maybe belonging to the loft of a vestry here at that time.
