god the father holds souls in a napkin, god the son crucified below. a dove can just be seen above the souls, but god's face was scrubbed out by either iconoclasm or political expedience. large paintings of saints on the upper tier of the late c15 rood screen acted as a reredos for nave altars against the dado; an orate inscription runs along the base.
