lady st.mary church, wareham, dorset

late c12 lead font, with apostles standing under an arcade. only 3 basic figures are used, and the font looks to have been made in one long piece plus the base. getting the angles right when drawing out the side piece must have caused quite a bit of cursing; 6 sided fonts are pretty rare in any medium. the design of the figures has much in common with the rood at barking in essex, which may have been made here in dorset
