view of the nave, rebuilt c.1540-60, the money collected for a new stone arcade was embezzled by the licensed collector and the parish decided to make do with timber instead. this was at some point clothed in a doric plaster arcade, later removed by the victorians.

fine ironwork of the late c17 surrounds the oxinden chapel in the south transept chapel which contains their 1682 tomb standing on a black and white marble floor.
