trinity hospital, castle rising

west front of the almshouse founded with other hospitals in clun and greenwich by henry howard, earl of northampton, who died in 1614. it was partly rebuilt in 1870, and now has only 3 residents as they can't find any women willing to live there. I'd have thought that they'd be beating them off with a stick, if only because of the red cloaks and tall black hats that they get to wear, but apparently not. me, I'd love to be a curmudgeon in some eleemosynary institution when I'm old; better than the gutter by far.
