this mid c13 section of arcade, now out of place, seems to have the remains of a figure rising from its grave in the spandrel. it is said to be part of a rood screen, but it may be that the base corbel, the Y springer with dog tooth and the two side arcs with nailhead do not even all fit together. it is difficult to judge without seeing these pieces in the round; they could be from arcading, or original tracery from a window, or from a tomb or sedilia, or indeed from a screen. another springer sits nearby.
