the tower in its external upper stages is by yevele [c.1393] with the pinnacles and chequer work of the c15. a lot of the outside was renewed by gwilt and then wallace in the early c19, with the current new nave being built in 1890-7 by blomfield, a safe pair of hands but never going to set the world on fire.
