peters tower, lympstone

built in 1885 by william peters in memory of his wife mary jane, as a gift for the poor people of lympstone. they already had a church clock within earshot, to say nothing of the tides here, so this is definitely a folly. now a landmark trust holiday home, with views of two other folly towers over the water at haldon and powderham
