st.peter vere street, london


built 1721-4 by james gibbs as a proprietary chapel for the estate built by edward harley earl of oxford, just north of oxford st. in westminster. stone vases once sprouted on tower, porch and roof corners, and the royal arms have gone from the pediment. it has been known as the oxford chapel and the marylebone chapel.
