st.andrew undershaft, london

st.andrew undershaft, london
interior of church of 1520-32. the entire church is treated in a somewhat cavalier fashion at present, the altar area full of tins of beans propped up against the tijou ironwork, the north aisle a kitchen which uses monuments as stores of breakfast cereal, and the font area being used as a furniture store; one could wish that they had used a less special city church for its present purpose and kept this one open. not easy to access either, though I'm sure that the office at st.helens does its best.
the nave roof retains its c16 bosses, the arcade spandrels have scenes of christ's life by robert brown from 1725-6, his apostles between the windows have gone.
