Cheerful wreath of yellow flower leaves

Thunderstorms and heat waves, we'll survived them all. Art inspires everyone : Sunflowers have become more beloved because of Vincent van Gogh's beautiful paintings. The sunflower is one of my favourites in everyday life I was allowed to take a picture of my lovely neighbour Lisa 93 year, she proudly shows me the beautiful flowers in her vegetable garden, especially her look in her eyes and the nice conversation I just love it ! Lisa is also one of the four ladies who, together with 3 other ladies, form a very strong team of the 'Leading ladies' of Vrebos Everberg in Kortenberg, I like to listen to what she has to tell me about her fine family history and humor, every times very fascinating with so much pride and wisdom On July 30th, we celebrate International Friendship Day. This day was proclaimed by the United Nations to emphasize the importance of friendships for the promotion of peace Helianthus annuus

Time for the Red Flames somewhere along the way

All birds are descended from dinosaurs, but the chicken is genetically the most similar to a dinosaur. Anyone who has seen the film 'Jurassic Park' would not indicate the terrifying creatures, but of the animals still living, Tyrannosaurus rex is genetically closest to chickens and ostriches. It was previously known that birds descended from dinosaurs but bone research now shows that chickens and ostriches are more similar to the extinct giants than reptiles such as crocodiles and lizards.

Paper bags instead of Plastic bags ~ July 3rd 2023 International Plastic Bag Free Day Market stallholders used to meet here on this square where they sold their marchandises, unfortunately this building of the Vismarkt has disappeared, only small shops remain, I liked this with the straw flowers in fresh shades of colour

The artist Vic De Vos of Bonheiden carved the three beautiful signposts with the symbols of Mechelen in 1954. For decades the woodcarvings showed visitors the way to the most beautiful buildings and museums and were featured on tourist posters and postcards. They have withstood all weathers and were in bad shape. After renovation, everyone can admire them in all their glory in the streets again, for me it's a nice meeting place... Margareta of Austria on the Mechelse Schoenmarkt surrounded by the Merchant Houses and in the background the Saint~Rombouts cathedral anno 1452 Every year, 55.000 visitors climb 538 steps up to see a breathtaking panoramic view at 97 metres high

Snowflakes swirl down over Flanders, colouring today's world in white and black

Snow field in the Park van Tervuren, Keizerinnedreef tree lined lane traffic free ~ A snowy landscape is not forever, the memory of it is already 43 years ago I cycled home from school in all weathers, the 6 km ride was amazing, every day I rode past the ponds and the museum, it did me good to breathe the pure oxygen it gave me a lot of energy. I like to remember the everyday beautiful things and it makes me very happy to be there again, all those beautiful memories come back as if it were yesterday, it was so nice because time flies, it is as if time has stood still here
